Gophers men's Game Day

7 P.M. VS. COASTAL CAROLINA

WILLIAMS ARENA • No TV, 1500-AM

Gophers at a glance: After igniting on a 19-0 run to finish strong at Richmond after struggling for most of the second half, the Gophers seem to have a renewed energy. They have two more games at home, including Wofford on Thursday, before embarking to the Maui Invitational and an opening matchup against Syracuse. G Andre Hollins was phenomenal once again in Saturday's victory over the Spiders, recording 26 points and seven rebounds. He leads the Gophers with an average of 22.7 points per game. … G Austin Hollins had a second consecutive double-double (and second of his career), gathering 11 rebounds to go with 11 points. … C Mo Walker again will be on the bench as he serves the fourth game of a six-game suspension for violating university policy.

Coastal Carolina at a glance: The Chanticleers from Conway, S.C., are coming off a heartbreaker loss to Ole Miss. Carolina is 1-2 but hasn't had the easiest schedule — starting off the year with Akron, one of the best teams in the Mid-American Conference. Things won't get much easier for the turnover-prone Chanticleers as they head to Minneapolis. Coastal Carolina has been losing the ball an average of 14.3 times a game, something the Gophers surely will try to exploit. G Elijah Wilson leads the team with 15 points and 4.7 rebounds a game, and four players average at least five rebounds.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
