Goldy the Gopher has many looks. Football player, wrestler, gymnast, and he can even ice skate. The University of Minnesota mascot takes the form of nearly every kind of athlete found on campus.
Now he's taken his look to a new level ... or galaxy far, far away.
In honor of May 4, also known as "Star Wars Day," the Gophers reintroduced Goldy the Jedi.
The Gophers Athletics Facebook account posted a video with the caption "#MayThe4thBeWithYou" that stars Goldy in a "Star Wars: The Barnyard Awakens" parody trailer. Goldy glides across the desert on a Landspeeder and fights the dark side with his lightsaber.
Even Williams Arena makes an appearance in the short video. Gophers and Star Wars fans must see it. Watch here.
