Illinois beat the Gophers 6-2 in Big Ten baseball at Siebert Field on Thursday.
Illini starter Kevin Duchene (8-1) gave up two runs and six hits in six innings.
Two relievers then held the home team hitless. Outfielder Troy Larson was 2-for-2 for the Gophers (29-19, 12-7 Big Ten). Third baseman Ryan Abrahamson was hitless but had two RBI on sacrifice flies. David Kerian was 2-for-5 for Illinois (32-15, 13-9) with two RBI.
