December 23, 2016 at 6:33AM

Preview: The Gophers (11-1) have a chance Friday to finish with their best record heading into Big Ten play since 2012-13. A nine-day break from games gave coach Richard Pitino's players a chance to rest, especially freshman Amir Coffey, who is cleared to play after missing the Dec. 14 win against LIU-Brooklyn with turf toe. Arkansas State (9-3) beat Georgetown 78-72 on the road Nov. 17.

Players to watch: Sophomore Dupree McBrayer had 21 points against LIU-Brooklyn. Arkansas State senior Devin Carter averages 17.3 points.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
