The Gophers football team will play host to Bowling Green in 2021 and 2025, the program announced Thursday.

The Falcons, a member of the Mid-American Conference, will visit on Sept. 25, 2021, and Sept. 6, 2025.

These are the second nonconference games added to the 2021 and 2025 schedules. The Gophers will play at Colorado on Sept. 18, 2021, and will play at BYU on Sept. 20, 2025.

Minnesota is 2-1 all-time vs. Bowling Green. The Gophers won 31-7 at home in 1986 and 42-17 at Bowling Green in Ohio in 2008. The Gophers lost to the Falcons 32-31 in overtime at the Metrodome in 2007 in Tim Brewster's debut as Gophers coach.

Two Gophers honored

Gophers kicker Emmit Carpenter and long snapper Payton Jordahl each earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday. The honor recognizes student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Carpenter, a junior, has made 14 of 18 field-goal attempts this season and has a 3.54 grade-point average in supply chain and operations management. He received the honor for the second consecutive year.

Jordahl, a junior, has been the Gophers' primary long snapper for the past three seasons. He has a 3.71 GPA in youth studies.
