Gophers add a three-star wide receiver recruit, as Erik Gibson commits

Erik Gibson, from Martin Luther King High School in Detroit, gave the Gophers a verbal commitment Saturday.

The Gophers added another wide receiver to their 2018 recruiting class Saturday, when Detroit native Erik Gibson gave them a verbal commitment.

The 6-2, 195-pound Gibson, from Detroit's Martin Luther King High School, is a consensus three-star recruit who also had reported offers from Ball State, Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan.

The Gophers now have 12 players committed for the Class of 2018 and sit at No. 10 nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings. Gibson announced his decision on Twitter:
