The good news is that County Road 61 between Bluff Creek Drive and Great Plains Blvd., allowing motorists to go from Chanhassen to Chaska, will open at 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation says. The connection has been closed since May to allow crews to build a new bridge across the flood plain north of the Minnesota River channel to raise the roadway out of the 100-year flood elevation.

The $54 million project includes rebuilding the Y intersection at County Roads 101 and 61, also known as Flying Cloud Drive.

The bad news is the County Road 101 bridge linking Shakopee with Chanhassen will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday as crews pour the new causeway bridge.
