Jason Godin pitched seven shutout innings to lead the St. Paul Saints to a 5-0 victory over the Sioux City Explorers at Midway Stadium on Wednesday.

Godin, making his second start, allowed only five hits while walking two and striking out seven. He was able to get out of a first-and-second, no-out jam in the first with two strikeouts and a foulout. The only other inning he got into trouble was the seventh, when he loaded the bases with two outs, but got out of the inning.

The Saints' Coby Smith finished the game 1-for-2 with an RBI, three walks and two stolen bases and Steve Mays was 2-for-3 with two doubles.
