Georgia WR Javan Hawes commits to Gophers

Javan Hawes, from Sandy Creek (Georgia) High School, chose the Gophers over reported offers from Purdue and Southern Miss.

The Gophers landed a verbal commitment Saturday from Javan Hawes, a wide receiver from Sandy Creek (Georgia) High School.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Hawes also had reported offers from Purdue, Miami (Ohio) and Southern Miss. The Gophers now have seven players committed for the Class of 2017.
