George Strait, who this week was named the biggest country star of the last 25 years by Billboard magazine, will perform Oct. 21 at Target Center.

The no-frills superstar does not tour extensively. He just announced an 11-city fall tour with Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack. Ticket information will be announced later.

Strait's two most recent Twin Cities performances were at Xcel Energy Center in 2006 and the Metrodome in 1998.

The soft-spoken Texan has scored a record 44 No. 1 country songs and sold more than 68 million albums. His latest CD is 2009's "Twang." He is the first artist in any genre to post a Top 10 single on a Billboard chart in 30 consecutive years. His current hit, "I Gotta Get to You," is No. 3.
