Anglers stuck between fishing from shore and renting a boat should consider popping for a fishing kayak. Increasingly popular, these small craft are sufficient for all metro waters, weather permitting, as well as many lakes and rivers outstate. In Florida and elsewhere, kayak fishing contests are common. Minnesota has a group for novices and veterans alike, the Minnesota Kayak Fishing Association. Check out the information at mnkayakfishingassociation.org.
