Garden evaluators needed

If you're a gardener, or just enjoy looking at beautiful gardens, Metro Blooms has an opportunity for you. The organization is seeking garden evaluators for its annual Minneapolis Garden Awards. Volunteers will be trained to review and rate nominated gardens. If you're interested, contact Aida Abebe at aida@metroblooms.org.

Art at the Arb

What's growing in Prince Charles' garden? You don't have to go to England to get a look. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is featuring 40 botanical prints depicting the plants in His Royal Highness' garden at Highgrove, as interpreted by the finest botanical artists in the world. The exhibit is up through Sept. 1, in the Reedy Gallery in the Oswald Visitor Center.

Bugs, good and bad

Are bugs driving you buggy? Gertens is offering a free "Bugs in the Garden" workshop Wednesday at 6 p.m. and again Saturday at 11 a.m. You'll learn about beneficial insects, as well as destructive ones, plus tips and tricks for timely control.

Gertens is located at 5500 Blaine Av., Inver Grove Heights.
