Gameday preview: Timberwolves vs. Phoenix

February 28, 2021 at 5:23AM

8 p.m. vs. Phoenix • Target Center • FSN, 830-AM

Some rest is just ahead

Wolves update: This home game is the end of a back-to-back. But there will be time for rest, rehab — and perhaps, more time for new coach Chris Finch to work with his new team — after this. The Wolves host Charlotte on Wednesday, then don't play again until March 11 at New Orleans. This is the Wolves' first game against the Suns this season; Minnesota lost both games vs. Phoenix last season. This the eighth set of back-to-back games the Wolves have played this season. The Wolves will be without D'Angelo Russell (leg) and Malik Beasley (suspension).

Phoenix update: The Suns are playing well, having won four of five games, including a victory at Chicago on Friday night. In that five-game stretch G Devin Booker averaged 27.0 points, C Deandre Ayton 16.0 and G Chris Paul 13.4. F Dario Saric (ankle) is questionable.
