Preview: The Spurs scored a season-high 41 points in the fourth quarter Friday to beat visiting Phoenix 100-95. Before that San Antonio had lost 10 of their past 16 games. That stretch roughly coincides with young forward Kawhi Leonard's bruised right hand that has caused him to miss 14 of the past 16 games. … The Spurs won eight consecutive games to end November and start December and then lost four in a row. … The Wolves have lost the season's first two meetings between the teams, 121-92 at Target Center on Nov. 21 and 123-101 at San Antonio on Dec. 6. The season's final meeting is March 15 in San Antonio.

Players to watch: Spurs forward Tim Duncan is the only NBA player currently averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. He is averaging 15.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists. He is one of two players in NBA history to reach 25,000 points, 14,000 rebounds and 2,500 blocked shots. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the other. … With Leonard out injured, the Spurs are starting essentially a three-guard offense with Tony Parker, Marco Belinelli and Danny Green in the lineup.

Injuries: Wolves G Ricky Rubio (sprained ankle), C Nikola Pekovic (ankle/foot) and G Kevin Martin (wrist surgery) remain out. Spurs F Leonard (hand) and F Kyle Anderson (sprained ankle) are out.
