Gophers (14-7, 6-4 Big Ten): Minnesota is coming off a 92-76 loss at Michigan on Sunday. Rachel Banham nearly had a triple double with 29 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. … Reserve Joanna Hedstrom also had a big game, making five of eight three-point attempts and scoring 18 points. But three starters went 0-for-8 from the field and had no points. … Guard Shayne Mullaney, who usually comes off the bench, too, is averaging 11.7 points in conference games. She had 13 points against the Wolverines. … The Gophers are 10-2 at home this season, with three consecutive wins.

Rutgers (13-9, 4-6): The Scarlet Knights beat the visiting Gophers 66-55 on New Year's Eve in the conference opener for both teams. Rutgers shot 54.2 percent in the second half of that game, Minnesota 27.3 percent. … The host Scarlet Knights beat Nebraska 66-56 on Saturday to end a four-game losing streak. They are still winless on the road, at 0-5, in Big Ten games, 1-7 overall in away games. … Rutgers is last among conference teams in scoring at 61.1 points per game, but first in scoring defense, holding opponents to 56.6 points. … Tyler Scaife is averaging a team-high 17.2 points per game followed by Kahleah Copper averaging 16.1 points and 8.1 rebounds.
