Preview: The Knicks come for their only visit this season, 12 days after they fired Derek Fisher and promoted assistant and former Wolves head coach Kurt Rambis from associate head coach to interim head coach. They lost 111-108 to Washington the day after he was promoted and ended a 10-day All Star break by losing 109-98 to the Nets on Friday night in Brookyn before flying to Minneapolis . That loss to the Nets was the Knicks' seventh consecutive defeat. At 23-33, they are five games behind eighth-place Chicago … The Knicks won the season's first meeting, 107-102 on Dec. 16 at Madison Square Garden. The Wolves won last year's season series 2-0.

Players to watch: Karl-Anthony Towns' biggest competition for Rookie of the Year, Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis was chosen the Eastern Conference's Rookie of the Month for November, December and January. Towns has done the same in the West. Porzingis set a franchise single-game rookie record by blocking seven shots in the teams' December meeting. He entered Friday's game seventh in the league at 1.94 blocks a game.

Injuries: Wolves G Kevin Martin (wrist) is probable, F Nemanja Bjelica (sore right foot), Kevin Garnett (sore right knee), C Nikola Pekovic (sore right foot) are out. Knicks F Cleanthony Early (knee) is listed as out.
