Wolves begin final homestand

Wolves update: The Wolves begin their final homestand of the season after winning for just the 11th time on the road in 40 games with a 110-108 victory over Dallas on Wednesday. Karl-Anthony Towns broke out of a recent slump by scoring 28 points on 12-for-15 shooting. Towns had been 25 of 72 in his previous four games. Towns had 34 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists in a win over Miami on Dec. 30. … Andrew Wiggins' streak of scoring over 20 points in seven straight games ended Wednesday. He had 19 against Dallas but provided the winning layup with 19 seconds remaining. The Wolves held Dallas to 18 percent shooting from three-point range, the lowest percentage an opponent has shot against them this season.

Heat update: Dwyane Wade's farewell tour makes one of its final stops in Minneapolis. Wade is averaging 14.5 points on 43 percent shooting this season. Wade has averaged 24.5 points in 22 career games against the Wolves. That's the third-highest point total Wade has averaged against any team in his career. … During the preseason the Wolves were targeting Miami guard Josh Richardson in Jimmy Butler trade talks. Richardson is averaging a career high 16.6 points per game on 41 percent shooting and is shooting 36 percent from three-point range. However, the Heat won't have Richardson as they try to make a playoff push. He did not make the trip as he deals with a groin injury.
