Preview: Partly because of a clash in schemes, Washington has usually proven to be a pesky opponent for the Lynx, no matter the Mystics' record. Washington posted its biggest victory ever over the Lynx, 87-63, on June 26 in D.C., and has won five of the past eight meetings.

Players to watch: Lynx G Lindsay Whalen has scored 40 points in her past two games; her season-high 24 points led the Lynx to victory over Seattle on Sunday and, in the words of coach Cheryl Reeve, helped pull the Lynx out of their post-Olympic funk. C Sylvia Fowles is coming off a double-double vs. Seattle and has scored in double figures in five straight games. Washington center Emma Meesseman had 20 points in the Mystics' win over the Lynx on June 26. Former Minneapolis South High School star Tayler Hill is averaging 15.3 points. She had 17 points, five assists and four steals vs. the Lynx on June 26.

Numbers: The Lynx are 20-1 when outshooting opponents and 20-2 when leading after three quarters.

Injuries: Lynx G Anna Cruz likely won't make her season debut until Tuesday in Los Angeles. Washington G Bria Hartley (pregnant) will miss the rest of the season.
