Gophers at a glance: After an eight-day layoff, the Gophers (8-2) get back at it for their final three nonconference games. Senior guard Andre Hollins is arguably playing some of his best basketball, having notched three 20-plus games already (two in the past four) while picking up the team's energy on defense. The Gophers have posted double-digit steals in seven of their 10 games. Senior center Mo Walker was named Big Ten Player of the Week after compiling 33 points and 13 rebounds in two games last week. In last Thursday's victory over Southern, coach Richard Pitino had the opportunity to experiment, playing freshman big Bakary Konate for 23 minutes and using 6-9 reserve Charles Buggs only at small forward, where he will be needed.

Seattle at a glance: The Redhawks (5-5) are coming off two consecutive victories, but the most recent was an 84-58 win over Division II Northwest. The Seattle offense has struggled in coach Cameron Dollar's campaign to reach .500 for the first time in five years in the transitioning Western Athletic Conference, but the team isn't without offensive capability. Senior guard Isiah Umipig, who broke the school record last year with 106 three-pointers, leads the way with 42 three-pointers and a 17.2 ppg average, and redshirt senior guard Jarell Flora chips in 14.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

The remaining schedule is favorable, but their hopes of a late-season run were dulled by a home loss to the Terrapins.
