EXHIBITION PREVIEW: NO. 4 GOPHERS VS. U-18 U.S. NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT TEAM

7 p.m. at Mariucci Arena • No TV or radio (live stream on subscription service BTN Plus)

Gophers at a glance: The Gophers (7-3) are coming of their worst weekend in years. They only scored one goal against Minnesota Duluth and are lacking goals from their third and fourth lines. Coach Don Lucia said the Gophers need more consistency from those units. Expect line changes.

U.S. NDT at a glance: The U.S. national developmental team (15-5-1) features one of the best crops of talent this program has ever seen, Lucia said. It has five potential NHL first-round draft picks. There are no Minnesotans on the roster. The U-18 U.S. team is 1-4-1 against college opponents this season with a win over Miami (Ohio) and a tie with Providence. It tied the Gophers 2-2 in its last visit to Mariucci Arena in 2012.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
