Parkers Prairie senior basketball player Sari Noga, the only in-state member of the Gophers' 2010 recruiting class, reached the 3,000-point plateau last week.

Noga, a 5-10 guard, got to 3,000 in a 62-54 victory over Cook County in the championship game of the Walker holiday tournament. That brought her career total to 3,022, which ranks eighth all-time in Minnesota girls' basketball. Noga will surely climb higher, too; Kierah Kimbrough of Badger-Greenbush-Middle River is No. 7 at 3,036 and Susan King of Holy Angels is No. 6 at 3,037. No. 5 is Janet Karvonen of New York Mills at 3,129.

Parkers Prairie is ranked third in Class 1A. The Panthers will take an 8-0 record into a game at Hillcrest Lutheran in Fergus Falls on Friday.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
