Tony Calderone's 10th goal of the season three minutes into overtime gave Michigan a 5-4 victory over Michigan State on Friday night in the third-place game of the Great Lakes Invitational in Detroit. Calderone had two goals in the game as did teammate Alex Kile. Zach Nagelvoort stopped 40 shots for the Wolverines (8-9-1), John Lethemon 30 for the Spartans (4-11-1).

Alaska Anchorage 4, Bemidji State 1: The host Seawolves (4-13-2, 3-8-2 WCHA) scored twice 35 seconds apart in the opening period to upset the No. 15 Beavers (13-7-3, 13-2-2).

Connecticut 4, St. Cloud State 3: Maxim Letunov's goal at 14:45 of the third period gave UConn (7-6-6) a 4-2 lead and proved to be the winner in their victory over No. 18 SCSU (8-8-1) in the Desert Hockey Classic in Prescott, Ariz. Blake Winiecki had a goal and two assists for SCSU.
