No. 2 UND loses at home

• MIAMI 3, NORTH DAKOTA 2: Sean Kuraly had two goals, one shorthanded and one on a power play, and one assist as the No. 7 RedHawks (8-3, 4-1 NCHC) beat No. 2 UND (7-2-1, 2-1) in Grand Forks. Michael Parks and Drake Caggiula scored for the home team.

• ST. CLOUD STATE 4, WESTERN MICHIGAN 3: Joey Benik and Patrick Russell each had a goal and an assist and Kalle Kossila had three assists as the No. 15 Huskies (4-5, 1-2 NCHC) edged the host Broncos (3-6, 1-4). Benik scored shorthanded, Russell on a power play for St. Cloud State, which was outshot 34-18.

BIG TEN

UMASS-LOWELL 5, PENN STATE 3: Robert Francis scored twice as the No. 4 River Hawks (7-1-2) beat the visiting Nittany Lions (5-2-2) despite being outshot 37-30 in the Big Ten/Hockey East Challenge. Casey Bailey had a goal and an assist for Penn State.
