MSU Mankato wins on hat trick

• MINNESOTA STATE 5, BOWLING GREEN 2: Junior forward Bryce Gervais had a hat trick and C.J. Franklin, his linemate, had three assists as the visiting Mavericks (5-2, 3-0 WCHA) defeated the Falcons (4-2-1, 2-1). Jean-Paul Lafontaine and Casey Nelson both had a goal and an assist for MSU Mankato. The Mavericks outshot Bowling Green 34-19. Winning goalie Stephon Williams improved his record to 5-0.

• BEMIDJI STATE 6, ALASKA 1: Charlie O'Connor's two goals, one shorthanded, led the host Beavers (2-3, 1-0) past the Nanooks (5-2, 0-1). Bemidji State was outshot 27-24, but scored the final five goals.

• MICHIGAN TECH 4, MICHIGAN 1: Tanner Kero scored the winning goal in the second period and had an assist as the Huskies (5-0) remained unbeaten. Dylan Larkin had a goal for the visiting Wolverines (2-4) in the third period. Tech outshot Michigan 34-29.

• FERRIS STATE 1, MICHIGAN STATE 0: Jared VanWormer scored in the opening period and C.J. Motte made 36 saves as the Bulldogs (3-3) defeated the Spartans (4-2-3) in East Lansing, Mich. Jake Hildebrand had 16 stops for Michigan State.

• PENN STATE 3, BENTLEY 2: Eric Scheid's unassisted goal with 2:43 left enabled the host Nittany Lions (4-3-2) to beat the Falcons (3-4). Teammate Taylor Holstrom scored only 16 seconds earlier, on a power play.

• OHIO STATE 3, CANISIUS 3 (OT, tie): David Gust's goal at 15:59 of the third period for the visiting Buckeyes (1-3-1) tied the score at 3-3. Shane Conacher had a goal and an assist for the host Golden Griffins (4-2-1).

• MIAMI (OHIO) 3, MINNESOTA DULUTH 2: Sean Kuraly's power-play goal with 1:59 left gave the RedHawks (5-2, 1-0 NCHC) a victory over the Bulldogs (3-4, 1-2) at Amsoil Arena. Karson Kuhlman and Andy Welinski had goals for UMD.
