Michigan rallies, upends Boston U

• MICHIGAN 2, BOSTON UNIV. 1: Tyler Motte scored his fourth goal of the season to tie the score at 7:16 of the third period and, 90 seconds later, teammate Alex Guptill got the winner on a penalty shot as the No. 4 Wolverines (4-0-1) edged the Terriers (3-2-0), rated No. 13 in the USCHO.com national ratings, in Ann Arbor.

• UMASS-LOWELL 4, MICHIGAN ST. 1: The No. 18 River Hawks (2-3) took a 3-0 lead early in the third period in beating the host Spartans (0-3-0). Mackenzie MacEachern scored the lone MSU goal.

• OHIO STATE 5, ROBERT MORRIS 3: Nick Oddo scored two goals and had one assist as the Buckeyes (1-3-0) won at home over the Colonials (0-3-1).

• ROCHESTER INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY 3, PENN STATE 3 (OT), tie: Curtis Loik's goal at 8:47 of the third period gave the Nittany Lions (2-2-0) a 3-2 lead, but the visiting Tigers (0-3-2) tied the score four minutes later.

• NOTRE DAME 3, MINNESOTA DULUTH 2: Jeff Costello, Mario Lucia and Peter Schneider all scored in the last 10 minutes of the second period as the No. 2 Irish (5-0-0) built a 3-1 lead. Cal Decowski and Andy Welinski had goals for host UMD (2-2-1).

• ST. CLOUD STATE 4, COLGATE 2: Nick Oliver's goal for the No. 10 Huskies (2-0-1) with 4:14 left broke a 2-2 tie. Ryan Faragher stopped 34 shots for visiting St. Cloud State.

• BEMIDJI STATE 6, ALABAMA HUNTSVILLE 1: Markus Gerbrandt had a hat trick as the Beavers (1-3-1) routed the host Chargers (0-3-0) in the WCHA opener for both teams.
