Freezing temperatures moving into central Minn.; Rochester expected to get half-inch of snow

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The National Weather Service says freezing temperatures are moving into central Minnesota, along with snow flurries in places like Rochester.

The weather service says temperatures will be in the mid-20s Monday through the evening. Winds are expected to be blustery, with gusts up to 26 mph.

Temperatures will plunge even further overnight, into the single digits in some places. The low in St. Cloud is forecast to be 6 degrees. Its average low for that day is 24 degrees.

Rochester was already seeing a dusting of snow Monday morning. About half an inch was expected to accumulate. The overnight low was expected to hit 12 degrees, with a warming trend in the next few days.
