Reid Travis could be returning home to finish his senior season, but it will be if his new school can make it to the Final Four next season in Minneapolis.

Travis announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he will play for Kentucky as a graduate transfer. The 6-8 former DeLaSalle star got his degree from Stanford last week and decided to pursue a national title with the Wildcats.

"After getting to know the staff and players on my visit it became very clear to me that there was no better place to continue this next step in the journey," Travis said on Twitter. "I'm excited to work hard every day and give everything of myself to this program, so that we can compete for a national championship."

Kentucky coach John Calipari said in a statement: "When I found out how much Reid wanted to be here, I had to take a look and say, 'OK, can he help us? Can he help our team become even more potent and can we help him reach his dreams?' The answers were absolutely."

As an All-Pac 12 forward last season, Travis averaged 19.5 points and 8.5 rebounds for the Cardinal in 2017-18. He will be immediately eligible to play this upcoming season for Kentucky, which he picked over defending national champion Villanova.

"Sunday I had the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream by graduating from Stanford University," Travis said in a video on Twitter. "I'm extremely proud to say I'm Stanford alum. I want to thank my friends, coaches, teammates, administrators, alumni and student body and everyone who has helped me become the man that I am over these last four years. With that being said I'm looking forward to a fresh start to continuing to pursue my dreams."

As a senior at DeLaSalle, Travis chose Stanford over Minnesota, making the announcement at a press conference at the Minneapolis high school.
