Tropical rain slowing organizing over the western Indian Ocean near the island of Agalega may betide formation of a tropical weather system having potential for serious impacts within the next few days.

The area of disturbed weather will shift slowly southeastward through at least Sunday, leading to outbreaks of heavy, potentially flooding rain over eastern Madagascar. Local heavy rain may also erupt over the Mascarene Islands of Mauritius and Reunion.

Slow consolidation into a tropical depression and even a tropical cyclone may begin as well. Thus, a tropical cyclone having potential to threaten either Madagascar or the Mascarene Islands early next week cannot be ruled out.
