A slow-moving cold front running up against a very warm and humid flow of air from the Gulf of Mexico will cause heavy rain from Oklahoma to Michigan Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Through a very sizable area, rainfall totals will be in the 2- to 4-nch range and up to 6 inches is possible. That much water coming over such a short period most certainly would produce some pretty significant flooding.

Some of the downpours that occur will be unleashed by big-time thunderstorms which will also have the capability of producing damaging winds and hail.
