Branford Marsalis: The eldest of the legendary Marsalis brothers, he leads one of the best small ensembles in jazz. Joe Krown Trio: Longtime keyboardist for Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Krown has found a fervent fan base in and out of his New Orleans stamping grounds, playing both piano and organ with a group that features the sizzling blues guitar licks of Walter Wolfman Washington. (7 p.m. Sat., Union Depot)
Dianne Reeves: A suave and soulful vocalist who's comfortable blending styles, Reeves will close the fest backed by a quartet that includes Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo and former Jazz Messenger and pianist Geoff Keezer. (8:30 p.m. Sat., Mears Park)
New Works by Various Composers: Local notables Zacc Harris, Chris Bates, Davu Seru and Steve Kenny will premiere material. (5 p.m. Thu. & Fri., Studio Z, 275 E. 4th St., Suite 200)
Jon Weber: The closing of the Artists' Quarter leaves a gaping hole in late-night shenanigans during festival weekend. The best bet to fill it might be this pianist, a frequent AQ ringmaster. (9:30 p.m. Thu., Studio Z)
