Five Gophers women's hockey players were named to All-WCHA teams announced Thursday.
Junior forward Kelly Pannek, the conference's scoring leader, and senior defenseman Lee Stecklein made the first team.
Sophomore forward Sarah Potomak was picked for the second team and seniors Dani Cameranesi, a forward, and Megan Wolfe, a defenseman, to the third team.
Pannek had 14 goals and 30 assists for 44 points in 28 WCHA games. She also led the nation in scoring (17 points, 40 assists for 57 points) in all games.
Stecklein, the team captain, was named to the first All-WCHA team for the third consecutive season.
• Senior forward Lara Stalder of Minnesota Duluth was named the conference's Player of the Year and UMD's Maura Crowell the Coach of the Year.
Stalder is from Lucerne, Switzerland.
Tommies sweep top awards
The St. Thomas women's basketball team, 27-0 and ranked No. 2 in the nation, received the top three individual MIAC awards. Senior center Kaitlin Langer was named Player of the Year for the second consecutive season; sophomore center Hannah Spaulding was the Sixth Player of the Year; and Ruth Sinn was the Coach of the Year.
