FIVE DON'T-MISS MOMENTS

Don't have enough time for 3,600 hours of coverage? At least catch these five events. (All times are subject to change).

SWIMMING

Michael Phelps tries to prove he's the greatest swimmer since Aquaman in the 400m individual medley, the first of eight possible golds. Look for current medal leader Mark Spitz to drop some itching powder into the contender's trunks. (7-11 p.m. Sat., NBC)

GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING

Minnesota's Jake Deitchler, who has brought down everyone shorter than Goliath, attempts to continue his streak in Greco-Roman qualifying. (4 a.m.-4 p.m. Tue., MSNBC)

GYMNASTICS

Iowa may be our state's rival, but when it comes to the Olympics, we're more than happy to root for West Des Moines' Shawn Johnson, a favorite in the women's all-around. (7 p.m.-midnight Thu., NBC)

BASKETBALL

Can the Redeem Team live up its nickname? Only if Kobe Bryant and company can survive to the gold-medal round. In women's hoops, look for Lynx star Seimone Augustus to show her stuff. (Women's final: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 23, NBC. Men's: 11:30 p.m.-4 a.m. Aug. 23, NBC)

TRACK

Participants in the men's marathon have an unusual competitor this year: air pollution. Watch some of the world's toughest try to wheeze and cough their way to the finish line. (6:30-11 p.m. Aug. 23, NBC)
