Planning a holiday party? Better Homes and Gardens magazine has launched its first iPad application, "Celebrate the Holidays," to help you with recipes, menus, decorating and music. "Celebrate" includes party themes that range from formal sit-down dinners to bonfires. The app features more than 500 photos of clever ideas and how-to tips on decorating for a theme. "Celebrate the Holidays" costs $3.99 at iTunes.

HOLIDAY EATS AT THE ARB

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum will serve festive holiday dinners, breakfasts and teas as part of the "Making Spirits Bright" event, which includes displays of decorated fir trees and gingerbread houses.

The family holiday breakfast is from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 11 in the MacMillan Auditorium ($6.99-$15.99). The four-course gourmet dinner with wine pairings will be in the Snyder Building's Fireplace Room at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 17 ($60-$65).
