Q Why will this be the last season for "In Plain Sight"? Also, when will "What Not to Wear" return? And will "Say Yes to the Dress" air new episodes from New York?
A Networks never say why they've chosen to end a show, but most of the time it's a financial decision -- the ratings are down and a show isn't making enough money, or the show has been around so long that it's too expensive to produce and be profitable.
"What Not to Wear" returns in May. "Say Yes to the Dress New York" comes back this summer.
'Private Practice' changes timeQ Will "Scandal," which premiered this month, replace "Private Practice" permanently? Also, is Mario Batali no longer with "The Chew"?
A "Private Practice" has moved to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Batali was on vacation a few weeks ago.
Dealing with compensationQ On shows such as "Househunters," "Househunters International" and "Property Virgins," are the people being featured offered compensation for being on the show? What about the featured participant drivers on "Shipping Wars," the bidders on "Storage Wars" and the employees on "Parking Wars"?
A Networks aren't going to give answers to these sorts of questions. I tried, but they said, "We do not comment on financial matters." So I'm forced to speculate. I imagine that it varies by TV show. I know people who participate in other nonfiction shows get paid a nominal appearance fee, so it's possible that people on these specific shows get compensation, but it's not guaranteed.
