Minneapolis police have arrested a 29-year-old man who allegedly fatally stabbed an acquaintance during a fight Thursday night outside a residence on the city’s south side.
Officers were called to the area of 35th Street and 1st Avenue S. about 10:40 p.m. and found a man who was “gravely injured,” said police spokesman John Elder.
The suspect had fled the scene but was apprehended on Friday, Elder said.
Police gave no specifics about the arrest, but homicide investigators spoke to a number of witnesses and canvassed the area to collect information and evidence.
The two men had been attending a social gathering Thursday night when they got into a disagreement that escalated into the deadly fight.
The victim “had trauma to the body,” Elder said.
Paramedics rendered aid and took him to HCMC, where he later died, Elder said.
The name of the victim has not been released.
