The PlayStation 3 is finally getting some lovin' from the best video game of 2008, Fallout 3. Bethesda Softworks has officially announced that all of the downloadable content (DLC) available previously only for the Xbox 360 will be coming out
soon for the PS3. The first of the five add-on chapters, Broken Steel, will be available Thursday on the PlayStation Network. Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt will follow a week later, on Oct. 1, with Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta coming Oct. 8. Those downloads will be $9.99 each.
Bethesda also announced that it has created a free update for the PS3 version of the game that, it says, "addresses a number of issues, includes some optimizations and adds trophy support for the DLC."
If you don't already have Fallout 3 -- and you should; it's an essential title -- you might want to wait until Oct. 13. That's when a Game of the Year edition will be out, and it will include all of the DLC. That all-in-one version will cost $60 for the 360 or PS3 and $50 for Windows -- the same price as the regular editions still are retailing for.
Update: The original version of this item incorrectly listed the DLC prices as $5 each. That GOTY edition is an even better deal.
