Fall lineup announced for author series

"Talk of the Stacks" fall reading series lineup announced.

The fall lineup for Talk of the Stacks, the free author series held at Minneapolis Central Library and sponsored by the Library Foundation of Hennepin County, has been announced.

• Sept. 9, Minneapolis author Heather McElhatton, author of "Pretty Little Mistakes," and "Jennifer Johnson is Sick of Being Single." Her new book is "Million Little Mistakes." She'll be introduced by writer and storyteller Kevin Kling.

• Sept. 30, Antonya Nelson, author of nine books of fiction. Her new book, "Bound," is her first novel in more than 10 years.

• Oct. 18, Joseph O'Neill, author of the 2009 PEN/Faulkner Award-winning "Netherlands." His new book is "Blood-Dark Track," a memoir about his journey to get to know his grandfathers -- one was an IRA soldier, the other a Turk imprisoned during World War II.

• Oct. 26, Ian Frazier, author of "On the Rez" and "Great Plains." His new book, "Travels in Siberia," was 10 years in the writing, an exploration of the geography, people and history of Siberia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

• Nov. 3, a showcase of authors recognized by the National Book Critics Circle awards committee -- Eula Biss, Marlon James and Stephen Burt, moderated by Jeff Shotts of Graywolf Press.

All programs are free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with programs beginning at 7, followed by book signings.

Minneapolis Central Library is at 300 Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis.
