The outdoor art fair season got a chilly start at the Edina Art Fair last weekend. While the first day featured sunny skies and buyers eager for first dibs, Day 2 was for true art lovers only (and owners of rain boots).

On Day 3, everyone else showed up, including Mary and Dick Bartz of Edina, who contemplated Daniel Lager's "Tulips," which was featured on the art fair posters.

Even though they walked away, featured artist Lager did quite well at the show. One patron bought his "Willow" to hang next to a Chagall -- fine company for his works, which are done behind Lucite.

Lager shared a booth with his wife, jewelry designer Barb Lager, whose bright, anodized pieces complemented her husband's wall hangings.

There were lots of families and friends out browsing, strolling (many with strollers) and eating kettle corn.

"We love checking it out," said Roxann Buslee of Plymouth. "It's the art and the art of people [watching]."
