Bright yellow dandelions fittingly sprinkled the lush, green lawn of the Ard Godfrey House for the Woman's Club of Minneapolis' 26th annual Dandelion Day celebration. The afternoon event drew families and couples to the 1848 frame house in Chute Square Park across the Mississippi from downtown Minneapolis.

They celebrated the introduction of dandelion seeds to the St. Anthony Falls area by Godfrey's daughter, Harriet. Guests were treated to tours of the yellow house by Woman's Club volunteers dressed in 1850s period costumes. Tours concluded with lessons in weaving dandelion necklaces, bracelets and crowns.

Visitors received complimentary recipe booklets for dandelion coffee, tea, salad and wine to continue the celebration all summer long.
