Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson is on the verge of becoming a television star.

Starting with this week's episode of "What Not to Wear" (Fri., 8 p.m. on TLC), he will replace Nick Arrojo as the hair makeover go-to guy. "It isn't much different from what I do every day, from working in salons to magazines -- every woman wants to feel special and be her best self," he said.

Gibson lived in Minneapolis from 1991 to 1997, while working for Aveda. His partner, Jason Backe, currently Clairol's color director and master colorist at Gibson's salons, is from Minnesota. "If I didn't live in New York, I would move back to Minneapolis," said Gibson, who is originally from Texas.

His regular clients include Angelina Jolie, Gabrielle Union, Anne Hathaway and Debra Messing.

The women on "What Not to Wear" get quite a deal: An appointment with Gibson costs $950.

His services are available at Ted Gibson Salons in New York and Washington, D.C., and he will soon be opening a third location in Fort Lauderdale.
