Everson Griffen has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
The Vikings defensive end had a monster game against the Packers on Sunday night. He sacked Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers twice, including a strip-sack that resulted in a huge fumble return touchdown for cornerback Captain Munnerlyn. He recorded six tackles, three for a loss, and was credited with four quarterback hits in the 20-13 win.
Griffen is the third Vikings player to win the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award this season. Nose tackle Linval Joseph and cornerback Terence Newman won in consecutive weeks back in November.
