Keep (Y)our Shanties On!

Sadly, the popular Art Shanty Projects wasn't in the cards for 2015 — and it wasn't for lack of ice. The organization, which transforms a frozen lake into an experiential public-art project, went on hiatus this year to focus on raising funds for next year's 20th anniversary. This weekend, the Art Shanty board of directors is throwing a party to celebrate its newly obtained 501(c)(3) status and raise funds. The organization will transform the new Fulton Brewery space into an immersive environment not unlike its art shanties (except, well, warmer). The evening also includes local musicians, local art raffles, and food and beverages. (5-9 p.m. Sat. $15-$20. Fulton Brewery, 2540 NE. 2nd St., Mpls. www.brownpapertickets.com.)Jahna Peloquin

Twin Cities Sneaker Art Xchange 5

Sneaker exchanges are a nationwide phenomenon, giving sneaker enthusiasts the opportunity to buy, sell or trade kicks with other collectors. The Twin Cities Sneaker Art Xchange throws art and music into the mix for a day that not only gives you the chance to buy or sell the latest, limited-edition Air Jordans, but also spotlights the broader culture of sneaker collecting. Produced by streetwear shop Studiiyo23, the event includes clothing and art vendor tables, DJ and MC sets and a secondhand clothing and sneaker drive. New this year is a partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves; entry includes a ticket to the Wolves vs. Clippers game on Monday. (Noon-6 p.m. Sun. $20-$45. All ages. Target Center, 600 1st Av. N., Mpls. www.ticketmaster.com.) J.P.
