"Because of Winn-Dixie." The story of a lonely Florida girl and her dog, DiCamillo's debut was named a Newbery Honor book and made into a film.

"Bink & Gollie." Written with Alison McGhee, it's the first in a trilogy about a short, determined girl and a tall, thoughtful girl who are the best of friends. Winner of a Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal.

"The Tale of Despereaux." Her first Newbery Medal winner, and second book made into a movie. The story of a mouse and a rat, it was inspired by a friend's son who asked her to write about a character with exceptionally large ears.

"The Tiger Rising." The story of a boy and a tiger, this is the book DiCamillo says is always the favorite of children who love to write.

"Great Joy." A gorgeous Christmassy picture book about a little girl, an organ grinder and a snowy winter night.
