Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Lynx playmaker Lindsay Whalen, St. Cloud State hockey star Drew LeBlanc and former Twins defensive dazzler Ben Revere are among those honored with ESPY nominations, which were announced Thursday across a broad array of sports and categories.

The fan-selected winners will be revealed during a live telecast July 17 on — you guessed it — ESPN.

Peterson is nominated in three categories: Best Male Athlete, Best Comeback and Best NFL Player.

Whalen is competing for Best WNBA Player, and LeBlanc is in the running for Best Male College Athlete.

Revere, in his first season with the Philadelphia Phillies since being traded from the Twins in the off-season, is competing in the Best Play category from when he went airborne on the warning track to rob the Reds' Todd Frazier of a hit and then threw to first base to double up Jay Bruce during a game in April.

One other former Twin is also among the nominees: knuckballer R.A. Dickey for Best MLB Player.

The public can vote online from now to the telecast. For details, including a look at all of the nominations, visit www.espn.com/espys.
