Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year Kyle Rau scored short-handed and on the power play for Eden Prairie to help the Eagles build a 3-0 cushion after two periods, and teammates added a pair of goals in the third period shortly after Rau was thrown into the boards on a check from behind, helping Eden Prairie cruise to a 5-0 victory over Lakeville North in the Class 2A quarterfinals.

Rau took a perfect feed on a 2-on-1 and tucked the puck past goalie Charlie Lindgren low on the blocker side to put the Eagles up 1-0 midway through the first. Sophomore Andrew Knudsen added an even strength goal in the second before Rau's tap-in made it 3-0.

The Eagles, who won the 2009 state title when many of this year's seniors were key sophomore contributors, advanced to Friday's semifinals. Goalie Andrew Ford made 20 saves in the shutout victory.
