Grayson Allen scored 24 points and Luke Kennard added 20 as No. 5 Duke beat Michigan State 78-69 on Tuesday night in Durham, N.C., in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Amile Jefferson had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Blue Devils (7-1), who won their fourth consecutive game despite shooting just 27 percent from three-point range.
Eron Harris scored 14 points for Michigan State (4-4). Playing their first game as an unranked team since March 2015, the Spartans had 18 turnovers and star freshman Miles Bridges was held to 11 points — six fewer than his team-leading average — on 4-for-13 shooting.
Neither team led by more than four before the Blue Devils broke a 48-all tie by reeling off 11 straight points.
The Spartans' four losses have all come to teams ranked 16th or higher in the current AP Top 25.
On the night, ACC and Big Ten each won three games.
Pittsburgh 73, Maryland 59: Jamel Artis scored 15 of his 22 points before halftime, and the visiting Panthers held off the previously unbeaten Terrapins (7-1). Pittsburgh (6-1) shot 67 percent from the floor in the first half, including 5-for-10 beyond the arc, and led 46-25 at halftime. "Our team played about as well in the first half as we've played on both ends," Panthers coach Kevin Stallings said. "We were alert and active." Melo Trimble's 13 points led Maryland, which shot 34 percent, committed 14 turnovers and was outrebounded 38-36.
No. 17 Wisconsin 77, No. 22 Syracuse 60: Ethan Happ had 24 points and 13 rebounds, zone-busting guard Bronson Koenig scored 20 points as the Badgers (6-2) won at home. Koenig was 6-for-9 from three-point range. Andrew White III led Syracuse (4-2) with 14 points but went scoreless in the second half. "Shared the ball extremely well, were very unselfish. Made good adjustments," Gard said. "Just a group that's getting closer and closer together."
