Dry weather will kick off the workweek throughout the Northeast Monday. Be advised, however, that it will begin cold with a near-freezing chill in the big cities. Outlying stretches of the I-95 corridor will start with 20s, and there will be 10s well inland.

During the day, full sunshine, or at least partial sunshine, will shake off the chill and lift temperatures to the mid- and upper 50s--higher than Sunday's, yet still a little cool for the middle of April. In northern New England, a rather cold wind will linger through the day.

A look to the south and west tells of weather shifts lying ahead for the Northeast. At least, the mid-Atlantic will have a spell of cloudy, damp, cool weather with times of rain Tuesday into Wednesday.
