I run when chased. My wife has run six marathons over the years. An alleged friend speculated that she was practicing to run away from me. Fake news. The Twin Cities Marathon is Saturday morning. It’ll be windy and July-like with late morning temperatures topping 80 degrees. The risk of heat exhaustion will be significant.
According to Praedictix meteorologist Joe Hansel, this first week of October will rank among the hottest, if not THE hottest, on record at MSP. Close to 90 degrees Friday and Saturday before cooling off. By the way, the hottest October temperature on record is 92 degrees (2023). Warmest October low temperature: 72 degrees (2005). I didn’t have this on my 2025 bingo card.
Enjoy one last flashback of July. Saturday looks like the hottest day, Sunday the windiest day with gusts to 45 mph. 60s next week will feel nice with the best chance of rain a week from Friday. On average, the first 32 degrees in the Twin Cities comes Oct. 18 (data since 1991). Not this year.
