Friday-Saturday: The Twin Cities' most sonically radical hip-hop crew -- if you can even classify it as hip-hop anymore -- Doomtree usually spends the year apart on solo outings, and thus its annual Blowout shows come off like a family reunion. This year, however, the eight-member rapper/DJ/producer/singer/songwriter ensemble is coming to First Ave straight off a monthlong tour that earned it loads of accolades. The members were all over the map before the trek, though, starting with the release of Dessa's masterful debut "A Badly Broken Code" in January, followed by wild and wholly rap-less albums by beatmakers Paper Tiger and Lazerbeak. P.O.S. moonlighted in Gayngs and Marijuana Deathsquad, and Sims finished work on a new album due in the spring. How they pull this wide range of music together is always a mystery, but they always do. (9 p.m. Fri., 21 & up; and 7 p.m. Sat., all ages. First Avenue, 701 1st Av. N., Mpls. $12.)
