DO IT NOW

Contrary to popular belief, poinsettias aren't poisonous. But it's still wise to keep them -- and all holiday plants -- out of the reach of children. To keep them looking their best, keep poinsettias in a bright, sunny spot away from drafts, and water them whenever the soil feels dry.

WE SPOTTED IT

Thoroughly modern floral fanciers may delight in posies of the nonwatering variety. The one-piece Floral Tile Wall Art, $49, will bloom where it's planted with no care other than a decent wall anchor (it weighs 3.3 pounds). West Elm, Shops at Centennial Lakes, 3821 Gallagher Dr., Edina, 952-835-8332.
